Our Epic Nerdy Newlywed Adventure: Day Nine

                                   Seattle.
                 A special kind of city.

Today was a very interesting day for us.
Matthew making a face while driving through traffic.

Let me go ahead and state a difference between Matthew and myself: Matthew hates big cities. I love them. It's also a bit ironic since Matthew is the one who suggested we come to Seattle. It was perfect for me. We started off by finding a place to park, then ventured around the city. I tried not to take too many pictures because I didn't want to appear as if I were a tourist (that's a good way to look vulnerable to a mugger.)

Our view of the Space Needle!

Walkiiiiiiin' through the city :D
We bickered about where we wanted to eat in the city because they were sooo many restaurants and cuisines to try. We eventually settled on the Hard Rock Cafe. I love that place, and it was Matthew's first time there. We had this cool British waitress who had the prettiest accent. And so we ate while listening to my kind of muzak.

The waitress gave him the bunny ears.

Yummy nomnomz
Right after we ate, we walked almost a mile to an interesting part of town to an independent bookstore known for being in that location for 40 years. Let me tell you. That side of town was Hipsterland. I personally enjoyed the vibe it had. I thought it was very relaxed and chill. I also loved the bookstore. I got two books and a t-shirt to support the bookstore.

The bookstore we walked to.

An interesting thing about this bookstore is the employees give you a written reason for why you should
read this book. I picked this one as an example because... well, I think that is self explanatory. :P
After that bookstore, we went to this corner bookstore called Edge of the Circle bookstore, which primarily deals with pagan and occult paraphernalia. No, I am not into Wicca and stuff. I just like to look at their books, incense, and stuff they use to make their potions. It smelled so good in there, I won't lie.
We eventually made it back to our side of town, and drove back to the hotel. Let me tell you: I think that Seattle has a lot to offer. There seemed to be a lot of culture. The city appeared very liberal, but very relaxed. Would I want to live here? Absolutely not, but if I lived near this area, I would visit the city quite a bit just to explore and enjoy the big-city feel.
Now we are relaxing in our hotel, waiting for pizza to arrive and watching game four of the NBA finals. We haven't decided how far we want to drive tomorrow yet, but we will be getting to, at least, as far as Portland. Pretty soon, we'll be back to the scenic parts of the great West! Until then!
