Our Epic Nerdy Newlywed Adventure: Day Eight

                  Sorry, guys...

We are in Seattle so the time change is a significant two hours. So while I may be writing this around 10p.m. heeeeeere, it is midnight there...

I am sorry for such a late post.

This post is going to be more of a text blog post sorely on the fact that there weren't very many sights for us to see today. Today was purely a driving day to Seattle. We were having a lovely drive through Idaho, and listening to sports radio. Life was good.
By the way, here is a cute story for you all. Matthew and I were at a gas station to fill up our gas tank when Matthew discovered something.
Someone had left this $100 and note for us.
We were so tickled about it that we were beaming for, at least, 20 minutes after we discovered this treat. We went along our merry way after that moment.

He looks kinda crazy here.

Hai thur.

Once we got into Washington, however, Matthew got caught for
going fifteen over the speed limit by a state trooper. The cop came up to the window and asked for license, insurance, and registration. No lie... it took me quite a few minutes trying to find Matthew's proof of insurance. THEN when he asked for registration, we both just gave him a blank stare. (Texas doesn't require registration when you get pulled over...) Soooo in the end, Matthew received a ticket for speeding. A couple things I observed about that guy was 1) He wasn't very friendly at all, and 2) he spoke like a Canadian. Matthew's response to the ticket though was that he had been speeding for almost 3,000 miles, and they just NOW caught him for a ticket. "Noobs," he said..

His face after he got a ticket.

I did get some pretty photos through Washington though!

Things got a little itchy though when we actually got to Seattle. I didn't take any photos of the city because I was too busy trying to navigate through it. We ended up getting a hotel room in the northside of the city.

Three things I have already noticed about the city.
1) The people. THE PEOPLE. This is where hipsters are grown and watered. They are everywhere on their bikes with their trendy messenger bags, skinny jeans, and glasses. Beards and beanies are also popular here, I've found.

2) The weather. Apparently Seattle never got the memo that it is June (A.K.A Summer.)

3) This is the home of books and coffee. BOOKS AND COFFEE.

Tonight I am going to look up some places to go tomorrow. I already know of a bookstore I am excited to check out. Thankfully, Matthew is up for anything tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe we'll decide to check out the trendiest restaurant in Seattle. ;)

Again, sorry for such a late post! Until tomorrow!

~~~ Hillary
